#STAR WARS THE OLD REPUBLIC ONLINE GAME KEEPS RUBBERBANDING PATCH#Cryptic never mentioned a fix for that bug in patch notes. Then one day, after several patches had already come and gone, a new patch came out, and the 'black screen event bug' just disappeared completely. Cryptic never even mention the bug, nor have they ever mentioned the repeated occurrences of the same bug- not one single word from Cryptic about it.nothing! Un-friggin-believable! It was bad, very obvious, and I again wrongly assumed that a bug of that magnitude would surely be fixed quickly.Boy, was I ever wrong again! Bug lasted nearly THREE WEEKS! Players who were hit with the bug could not even log into the game, or get to the character selection screen. The 'black screen event bug' didn't hit me until around ) October of 2020. I have a strong suspicion that it is related to the 'black screen event bug ' missing character slot bug ' 'missing trait bug ' and perhaps a few other bugs that all seem related to data loading issues, particularly when character data loading is involved. But that bug has been around for over a year for me. Some patches make the bug nearly disappear, but it's still there, and other patches make the bug worse. The zone crash bug seems to get better, or worse with each patch. It was so obvious of a bug, that I wasn't even worried about it because I assumed that a bug of that magnitude would be quickly identified, and fixed within a patch or two. ![]() It was bad, very obvious bug, occurred frequently. That's when then the zone change crash issue began for me, suddenly, after a patch. Game ran all smooth and fine for me too, up until early last year (around Feb. Its people like you that make the bugs so hard to track down and fix like the bugs in the new TFO event. If we all had your attitude the Risa summer zone lag and major lag of 2018/1019 would never have been sorted. Its your type of attitude that stops bugs being fixed. Do you realize you are the one that comes across as having the attitude of the 1st group which leads to blind alleys which stop bugs being fixed. No one ever said the game is unplayable for everyone or that everyone is having problems. Tommydog already knows not everyone has the bugs and was looking for other people experiencing similar problems to try to track down where the problem is. Of course Tommydog means the game is unplayable for him. The first merely leads to blind alleys for programmers, and an attitude from players like yourself that the devs "just don't care". ![]() The second attitude can lead to tracking down what the issue actually is, and solving it. So what? Just because you two are not experiencing it doesn't mean others aren't.Īnd just because you are doesn't mean that "everyone" is and that the game is "unplayable" - it means that YOU are experiencing this and the game is unplayable FOR YOU. Though of course there will be exceptions and in some cases it will be local just in this case I suspect its more game bugs then local.ĮDIT: edited post to try and it clearler. I am sure in my case and just about every other case I looked into the crashes to desktop, drops outs, lag, freezes and problems in the new TFO are all cased by game bugs. #STAR WARS THE OLD REPUBLIC ONLINE GAME KEEPS RUBBERBANDING SOFTWARE#Its been confirmed that a large amount of that is the game or wider network not the end users devices or software running in the background. #STAR WARS THE OLD REPUBLIC ONLINE GAME KEEPS RUBBERBANDING MOD#I know that forum mod is a tech wiz when it comes to things like this and I am sure would be happy to assist anyone. Maybe its overclocking, Maybe antivirus, but I am just not getting anything near to that being described by others. Maybe (just maybe) players are running things in the background that I'm not that is effecting the game for them and because I am not doing the exact same thing I'm not getting effected. STO runs as smooth as a baby's behind for me. All these reports of crashes, lag, freezes etc I don't experience anything. ![]()
